Wenzhou Bonded Logistics Center (type B) in Yueqing, a county-level city of Wenzhou.

The Wenzhou Bonded Logistics Center (type B) recently received approval for establishment from China’s top customs, finance, taxation, and foreign exchange authorities. This marks another new platform for opening-up in Wenzhou following its comprehensive bonded zone and is the seventh bonded logistics center (type B) in Zhejiang province.

A bonded logistics center (type B) refers to a concentrated surveillance place of the customs as approved by the General Administration of Customs that is operated by a Chinese domestic enterprise with legal person status and where many enterprises enter to undertake the business operations of bonded logistics warehousing. The logistics center will provide a wide range of services, including bonded warehousing, bonded logistics, transit trade, international transshipment, consolidation and distribution, and export processing.

The center has a storage area of about 68,300 square meters, of which 42,600 square meters are warehouses and 25,700 square meters are yards, with supporting facilities such as fences, checkpoints, general cargo warehouses, cross-border e-commerce warehouses, cold chain warehouses, supervision warehouses, yards, and equipment rooms. Strategically located near Yueqing Bay’s port area, the China-Europe freight train station, and major expressways, the bonded logistics center enjoys unparalleled transportation advantages. This prime location will enable Wenzhou to enhance its role as a distribution hub of import and export goods for southern Zhejiang province and northern Fujian province, while accelerating its integration into the Yangtze River Delta region.

“The establishment of the bonded logistics center is expected to help Yueqing break through regional development bottlenecks and accelerate the flow and integration of elements, resources, and industries between Wenzhou and cities in the Yangtze River Delta. The center will also contribute to Yueqing’s transformation and upgrading,” said Chen Leizhen, director of the Wenzhou Customs Office in Yueqing. The center will boast advanced warehouses and logistic facilities and offer one-stop services of importing and exporting, thus creating a cross-regional logistics network with surrounding cities such as Taizhou and Lishui. This will also enhance the economic competitiveness of Yueqing Bay and further expand the role of its port area. The local cross-border e-commerce enterprises and logistics companies are expected to benefit from it as well.

Going forward, Wenzhou Customs will support the smooth operation of the bonded logistics center by collaborating with local authorities and businesses. By leveraging the center’s policy advantages and unleashing its full potential, Wenzhou aims to build a high-level, open, and comprehensive logistics hub that sets a new benchmark for the industry.
