Wencheng County is located in the southern mountainous region of Zhejiang Province, in the southwestern of Wenzhou City, and along the upper reaches of Feiyun River. It borders on Rui'an City to the east, and Pingyang and Cangnan Counties to the south,  Taishun and Jingning Counties to the west, and Qingtian County to the north, covering a total area of 1,296.44 m2 . It is under the jurisdiction of Wenzhou City, with the county government located in Daxi Town. The county is 274 km from the provincial capital Hangzhou, 62 km from Wenzhou City, and 62 km from the East China Sea (all calculated as a straight-line distance). The county government is located at 125 Jianshe Road, Daxue Town.
