Yueqing City is located on the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province and is under the jurisdiction of Wenzhou City. It is 63 km south of Wenzhou City, and 248 km north of the provincial capital Hangzhou City. It lies between 120°47′E ~ 121°15′E and 27°57′N to 28°32′ N. To the east, it faces Yueqing Bay, separated by sea from Yuhuan City and Dongtou District; to the south, it is divided by the Oujiang River from Wenzhou City; to the west, it borders on Yongjia County; to the north, it shares its boundary with Huangyan District of Taizhou City. It neighbours Wenling City to the northeast. Yuqing City has a developed economy and is one of the earliest regions in China to embrace market-oriented economic development. Liusi, in its south, is renowned as the "Capital of Low-voltage Electrical Appliances" and the birthplace of the Wenzhou Model in China. Yandang Mountain, in its north, is one of China's top ten famous mountains, hailed as the "Number One Mountain in Southeast China". Holding the title of World Geological Park, it is a national 5A tourist attraction. |
