AAAA-class One of China’s Four Famous Islets, the Islet of Poetry and Buddhism, the World’s Ancient Navigation Landmarks Jiangxin Islet is a national 4A-class scenic area, lying in the middle of the Oujiang River to the north of Lucheng district, Wenzhou city. Covering an area of 71.3 hectares, the scenic area has been renowned for over 1570 years since the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), and is particularly known as one of the Four Famous Islets in China. Endowed with beautiful natural sceneries, lush veteran trees, pavilions, bridges and houses, the islet is given an alternative name as “the wonderland on the Oujiang River”. Famous poets from different times including Xie Lingyun, Meng Haoran, Han Yu, Lu You, and Wen Tianxiang have been to the islet, leaving nearly 800 famous poems, hence it is known as the “Islet of Poetry”.
