Longwan Library

The Longwan Library was established at the end of 1998 in Zhuangyuan Town (current Zhuangyuan Sub-district). In December 2008, it was moved to the Longwan Cultural Center, and in December 2015, it was relocated to No. 89, Longkang Road, Yongzhong Sub-district. The new building is located at the southern end of Longkang Road, the administrative center of Longwan District. The library is in the cultural and leisure center of the district, adjacent to the Wanda Plaza, the Longwan Experimental Middle School, the Longwan Foreign Language Primary School and the Civic Square.

The new library was opened on December 15, 2015, including four floors and one basement. The basement is a parking lot. The first floor has a 24-hour City’s Study, an exhibition hall, a multi-function hall, a children’s reading area, and a visually impaired reading room. The second floor has a printed materials area and a leisure book bar. The third floor has a digital collections area, a self-study area, an audio-visual hall, and a lecture hall. The fourth floor has a special collection room, a picture book hall, a cultural express, and some training classrooms. The total area of the library is 12145.19 sq m, and it implements fully open-shelved, intelligent, and networked management.
