It is learned from Wenzhou Customs on January 15th that the international airfreight volume of Wenzhou Longwan International Airport exceeded 20,000 tons last year, marking a significant increase of 2.8 times compared to the previous year. This milestone represents a new level of international freight capacity for Wenzhou airport, which will have a positive impact on the economic development of the city and its surrounding areas. A few days ago, a shipment weighing 24 tons, consisting mainly of clothing and shoes exported by cross-border e-commerce(9610 mode), was transported from Wenzhou to Manila on flight YG9053. The 9610 export business of Wenzhou airport’s cross-border e-commerce was launched in May last year. Wenzhou Customs said that since then it has inspected and released export goods for over 15 million times, with a cumulative value of nearly 1 billion yuan. In the second half of last year, the export volume of cross-border e-commerce(9610 mode) accounted for over 50% of the total export volume at Wenzhou airport, becoming a new driving force for its export sector. The growth in airfreight transportation has also facilitated the export of local specialty foods and agricultural products. Wenzhou Customs has actively engaged in discussions and exchanges with local government departments and enterprises through various service activities, such as “Hundred customs service groups help thousands of exporting companies” and “the commissioner of customs offers door-to-door policy delivery service”. These efforts have aimed to popularize export policies and new industrial information, as well as explore new ways for exporting “local products”. To support the rapid export of special food and agricultural products, Wenzhou Customs has established a green channel for fresh and perishable agricultural food products at the airport, and tracked the logistics of these export goods in the principle of “fresh goods wait for nobody”. As a result, they have implemented efficient supervision measures to ensure the freshness of the goods and won a good reputation for the ports. Last year, Wenzhou Customs successfully promoted the export of fresh bamboo shoots, bayberry, large yellow croaker, and other goods, establishing “Wenzhou Experience” in exporting local specialty foods and agricultural products. According to Wenzhou Customs, Wenzhou Longwan International Airport has opened 10 international airfreight routes from Wenzhou to 8 foreign cities, including Milan, Los Angeles, Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Clark, and Hanoi. |
