Recently, the cherry tomatoes produced in Hengxi Village, Baoyang Town, Taishun County, have reached their peak of ripeness and are gradually entering the market. This trend is anticipated to continue well beyond the Dragon Boat Festival.

Inside the lush greenhouse, the vines are adorned with an array of cherry tomatoes, their hues ranging from vivid red to golden yellow to verdant green. Each tomato is plump and inviting, displaying a captivating color that is hard to resist. The villagers are diligently harvesting, swiftly filling their small baskets.

In 2019, Taishun Hualihengxi Tourism Development Company inked a land transfer deal with Hengxi Villagers, acquiring 31 mu of farmland. Led by the government of Baoyang Town, five villages—Hengxi, Zhuonankeng, Tukeng, Lin'ao, and Yanshang—pooled resources totaling 6.5 million yuan to establish an 18.25-mu greenhouse complex dedicated to cherry tomato production.

Currently, seven mu of cherry tomatoes are thriving here, boasting a range of varieties including “Zheying No.1”, “Zheying No.2”, “Zheying Pink”,“Yellow Ying”, and “Xiaolinglong”. Each variety offers its own distinct taste. Notably, “Zheying Pink”stands out for its evenly-sized fruits, captivating gloss, and juicy flesh. On the other hand, “Xiaolinglong” completely lacks the sourness typical of tomatoes, offering a much sweeter taste than conventional varieties.

To cultivate high-quality cherry tomatoes that are sweet, sour, and juicy, Hengxi Village has accelerated the improvement of tomato greenhouse construction, leading to the continuous expansion of planting area and increasing variety. Villagers have learned new planting techniques and pest control methods, adopted green and organic planting techniques, and strictly controlled every aspect of the production process to ensure the quality of cherry tomatoes. Additionally, they have utilized the internet plus agriculture approach for promotion and sales, expecting to achieve a revenue of 310,000 yuan from cherry tomatoes this year.

It is reported that the village thrives in agricultural diversity, cultivating 9 mu of morel mushrooms and 2 mu of succulents. The morel mushrooms, esteemed as both a culinary delicacy and a nourishing food, are sprouting vigorously, their brown umbrellas dotting the landscape. Workers diligently sort, pack, and dry the harvest in the production base. Baoyang Town is thus bearing the colorful fruits of prosperity, embodying the vibrant spirit of rural revitalization.
