From June 14th to 17th, the 2024 National Taekwondo Championships Series (Round 2) will be held at the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium. Over 859 athletes from more than 30 sports teams across the country will gather in Wenzhou to showcase the highest level of domestic taekwondo matches.

Spanning four days, the competition features separate categories for men and women, with eight divisions each. Men's divisions include 54 kg, 58 kg, 63 kg, 68 kg, 74 kg, 80 kg, 87 kg, and +87 kg, while women's divisions consist of 46 kg, 49 kg, 53 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, 67 kg, 73 kg, and +73 kg.

The 2024 National Taekwondo Championships Series consists of four rounds, serving as crucial points events for athletes to qualify for the final championships. This adds significant value to the competitiveness, spectator appeal, and prestige of the event. Notably, several national team members and 10 local competitors representing Wenzhou are expected to participate.

The event will be fully live televised by the Chinese Taekwondo Association, and local citizens can enjoy free admission with their IDs to witness the national-level competition without a trip out of the city.

This year, Wenzhou has planned to speed up its high quality development in sports  by hosting one hundred sports competition events , establishing a “10-minute fitness zone” and building a top-notch dragon boat base, all helpful to construct Wenzhou into a sports-loving city strong in holding sports events, and world-renowned dragon boat competition venue.

The event is sponsored by the Chinese Taekwondo Association, organized by the Wenzhou Municipal Sports Bureau, Longwan District People's Government, and co-organized by Longwan Sports Development Center, Wenzhou Sports Investment and Development Group, and Wenzhou Taekwondo Association, with Wenzhou Longzhilan Sports Development Co., Ltd. as the the event operating organization and the Wenzhou Sports Lottery Administration Center as the non-profit partner.
