On May 24th, 970 boxes totaling 2.1 tons of seasoned squid were shipped to Hong Kong after passing inspection by Wenzhou Customs. This marks the first time that Rui’an-made leisure snacks have entered the Hong Kong market.

“Domestic trade is our main market, but in recent years we have planned on shifting to foreign trade. Exporting products to Hong Kong is our first attempt.” said Liang Hui, Quality Director of Zhejiang Ruisong Food Co., Ltd. To promote the expansion of snack enterprises into the international market, Wenzhou Customs provides in-depth guidance to risk analysis, quality control of raw material, ingredient classification, and technical guidance. Additionally, they help enterprises quickly obtain the qualification certificate of the “Filing of Export Food Production Enterprises”. “During the whole export process, we benefited from a wide variety of clientele and partnership programs with Wenzhou Customs, “This greatly boosted our confidence in the future endeavors,” Liang Hui added.

In Rui’an, many traditional seafood enterprises have turned to seafood related products and as a result, faced rapid development in the region. Subsequently, many domestic brands such as Xiang’hai, Hai’yu’lian, and Rui’song have become well known around this time. For years, the international market had long been a target of theirs for expansion, but it was only in 2024 when they truly began gaining a foothold in the overseas market. Since the year of 2024, they have exported 106 batches of seafood related products worth a total of ¥2.33 million. Their diverse selection included over 30 types of dried yellow croaker, hairtail, and fish tofu.

Over the years, to regulate the growing industry, Wenzhou Customs as well as local officials have passed various policies to continue nurturing the growth of locally produced high-quality goods destined for the export market. They provide full-logistical services as well as government aid pertaining to the regulations and preferential policies.
