On July 29th, Zhejiang Feixiang General Aviation Co., Ltd. (Taishun) officially obtained the China's Civil Aviation Regulations (CCAR)-Section135 Operating Certificate issued by the East China Regional Administration of CAAC, becoming the first general aviation company in Wenzhou to acquire this qualification. The full name of the CCAR-135 qualification is "Rules for the Certification of Operators of Small Commercial Air Transportation and Air Touring Operations." Its operations encompass regular and non-scheduled passenger (business charters) or cargo flights, long-distance air tours, short-distance air tours, and other aviation services. In March 2023, Zhejiang Feixiang General Aviation Co., Ltd. signed the "Taishun General Aviation Operation Cooperation Agreement" with the Taishun County People's Government, relocating the company's registration to Taishun and deploying a low-altitude aviation network throughout Wenzhou. Currently, there are five major flight camps, including Wenxiang Lake Flight Camp, Nanpu Stream Flight Camp, Baizhangji Flight Camp, Jiangxin Islet Flight Camp, and Dongtou Flight Camp. Among them, Wenxiang Lake Flight Camp and Nanpu Stream Flight Camp officially opened for operations in April 2023 and July 2024, respectively. How can a small mountainous county develop a low-altitude economy? Taishun boasts natural advantages in airspace, with plateaus atop mountains and gentle slopes on low hills. The airspace has few flight routes and enjoys high visibility year-round, making it suitable for developing low-altitude economic applications in mountainous regions. As the southwestern transportation hub of Wenzhou, Taishun is forming a "cross-shaped outside and fishbone-shaped inside" land transportation network, offering advantages in the connection between air and land transportation. Moreover, Taishun is known as an ecological county and the hometown of Covered Wood bridges. Natural wonders like Baiyunjian, the highest peak in Wenzhou, Feiyun Lake, the "high-quality water reservoir" of Wenzhou, and Wenxiang Lake, the most picturesque spot in the mountainous county, provide diverse possibilities for planning air tourism routes that "soar above green mountains and clear waters, peacefully admiring the idyllic landscapes." Taishun County began planning and constructing the first general aviation airport in southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian over a decade ago, simultaneously developing a general aviation industrial park. By securing the earliest military-civilian approval, building the longest runway, and adhering to the highest overall standards, Taishun aims to seize the initiative in developing general aviation and the "low-altitude economy" in this area. This effort strengthens the air-ground integrated development system characterized by "safe flights, available landing sites, interactive airport-industry development, and diversified win-win outcomes." It is estimated that after completion, it will take just over an hour to reach Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport from Taishun General Airport. Today, the developmental effects of Taishun's "low-altitude economy" are becoming evident. On July 1st this year, Nanpu Stream Flight Camp officially opened to the public, offering four routes for tourists to choose from: the Nanpu Stream scenic area route, the premium and panoramic routes around Feiyun Lake, and the core route around Wuyanling Mountain and Feiyun Lake. The maximum flight altitude can reach 1,800 meters, with the farthest route covering over 70 kilometers through Baoyang, Baizhang, Zhuli, Siqian, and other places. Furthermore, the camp also accepts customized high-altitude flights and provides services such as business transportation and medical emergency rescue. Currently, Wenxiang Lake Camp and Nanpu Stream Camp have attracted over 31,000 tourists, with over 90% coming from outside the county, and over 8,000 tourists have directly experienced flights. |
