On February 16, the opening and groundbreaking ceremony of the 1688 Wenzhou Product Selection Center was held at Wenzhou Daxiang International Trade Square Phase III. The center also began merchant recruitment and is expected to open by the end of March.

The 1688 Product Selection Center in Wenzhou is one of 10 nationwide, covering over 15,000 square meters, making it the largest in China.

This project represents a groundbreaking collaboration between Alibaba Group and local industrial belts, aiming to deeply integrate high-quality supply chain resources and establish an online-offline integrated full-industry-chain service platform. The center adopts a “four-in-one” operational model, where the local government sets up the platform and provides guidance, 1688 offers datafication support, local supply chain leaders handle day-to-day operations, and local original factories settled in. Together, they create a digital supply chain selection center that combines the “front hall” for display and the “back warehouse” for storage.

The Wenzhou Selection Center will gather premium goods from local industries, offering a comprehensive platform for fairs and sales, business matchmaking, and logistic services to provide complete and professional supply chain resources and cooperation opportunities. Leveraging AI technology, unique product view designs, and tailored marketing services, it aims to boost the nationwide sales of its products.

Chen Longqiu, Chairman of Wenzhou Daxiang International Trade Square, emphasized that the project marks the shift from “e-commerce enablement” to “supply chain transformation”. Over the past decade, Wenzhou Daxiang International Trade Square has developed a 500,000-square-meter industry complex integrating commerce circulation, brand incubation, R&D Design, garment accessoriessupply, Cross-border E-commerce, and ABP. He noted that Alibaba’s platform will amplify sales growth for local businesses while leveraging the concentrated supply chain advantages to accelerate brand marketing and expansion, creating an “AI Silk Road” for enterprises to access international markets. This is not only a significant milestone for Wenzhou’s digital economy but also an innovative practice of the deep integration of industrial clusters and e-commerce platforms.

Lin Jingle, a key supply chain partner of the 1688 Wenzhou Product Selection Center, emphasized that the collaboration with Alibaba 1688 will bring valuable opportunities for digital transformation to local enterprises. By adopting innovative business models such as “front hall + back warehouse” and “one town, one specialty product,” the center aims to optimize consolidated order operation and achieve precise supply-demand matching, ultimately boosting industrial efficiency.
