The 2025 China (Wenzhou) International Plastics Industry Expo launched at Wenzhou International Convention & Exhibition Center on June 26. Under the theme “Green Innovation Shaping the Future,” the event spotlights cutting-edge solutions for high-performance and eco-friendly plastics demanded by emerging industries like new energy vehicles and smart appliances. Its debut day generated 8.9 million yuan in transactions, signaling strong market momentum for industrial upgrading. Co-hosted by Wenzhou Plastics Industry Association and Shanghai Jiamusen Exhibition Co., the three-day expo spans 20,000 square meters. It features over 400 leading exhibitors including Haitian, Zhenxiong, and Yonghua. Sixteen themed zones cover the entire industrial chain—from polymer materials, machinery, molds, and auxiliary equipment to smart manufacturing solutions and recycled materials. The event highlights breakthroughs in localized R&D and commercial applications, while concurrent forums facilitate industry networking. Key first-day transactions involved injection molding machines, film blowing equipment, advanced plastics, and recycled polymers. Wenzhou, acclaimed as “China's Capital of Plastic Weaving,” leverages its industrial strengths to meet robust downstream demand from automotive, home appliance, and packaging sectors. Notably, the city pioneers degradable plastics adoption—expanding applications of polylactic acid (PLA) and polybutylene succinate (PBS) in textiles, agricultural films, and packaging. Woven bags and plastic films dominate local output, accounting for over 80% of total production. The sector holds 15% of China's plastic weaving market. A Wenzhou Plastics Association executive stated: “This expo epitomizes China's plastics industry strategic shift toward high-end, intelligent, and sustainable development—transcending its role as a showcase for innovations”. |
